Pinteresting Lesson Plan!

Soooo I sort of have a mini-obsession with technology and fun things to explore on the internet...and sometimes this part of my life spills a little bit over into my lesson plans...opps?

I have been tossing around ideas for a denser lesson on obesity (see what I did there) and I have also been playing around with the idea of using Pinterest somehow in my classroom as an actual lesson and not just a place to look up recipes while my Better Homes and Gardens books collect dust.

I’ve done it! I created a sweet lesson where my kiddos have to make a Pinterest board about obesity! I also gave the option to choose eating disorders as a topic. I required that they pin 10 differnt items that answeed 10 questions about their chosen topic. It was pretty cool - I will for sure do it again!

Here is the assignment:
Obesity/Eating Disorder Awareness
Pinterest Project

Directions: Answer the questions below by finding reliable online resources for each question. You will then organize these resources onto a Pinterest board titled: “Obesity Awareness” or  “Eating Disorder Awareness”.

Or by downloading the free app in the app store on your iPad. You can create an account with your Facebook login information or your email address. (if you wish you can delete the account when your assignment has been graded.)

You must have at least 10 pins on your board, one for each question. Select “Add a Pin” on your board and then do so by searching the internet or pinterest for resources.
